The Education Pad
To support his students with establishing good riding seat in the best possible way Bent Branderup has developed the Bent Branderup® Education Pad.
In contrast to the “Dezent” pad, you can choose and combine your colors in a more varied way.
This creates additional effort in production, which leads to a price difference. There are no functional differences to the “Dezent” pad.
!!! New!!! Each pad comes standard with two retaining rings (D-rings) for attaching handle straps or your treat bag. The rings are attached to the front edge of the pad and are available in silver or brass.
This unique
tool is simple and flexible like a bareback pad, but it has cushions like a
saddle and an additional seat cushion.
The cushions can be changed and adjusted easily, so that the pad fits the horse's back perfectly. With a few steps you can also change the seat cushion and make it suit your needs.
Why an
Education Pad?
The Bent Branderup® Education Pad provides the best comfort for the rider's hip. It allows you to stretch your legs and to find a relaxed seat and it is the first bareback pad that can support a precise balance of the pelvis. Experience shows that many riders who use a conventional bareback pad tend to ride with a hollow back or a round back. The Education Pad can be fitted to both the horse's back and to the rider's individual anatomy. The fitting for the rider is easy; you can do it by yourself or with the help of your trainer.
Discover how the stable balance of your pelvis will allow you to refine your primary aid - the seat. The Education Pad is flexible like a bareback pad and has the most important quality of a saddle: it connects the horse's back to a relaxed and balanced seat.
Caution: The
Education Pad does not have a regular saddle tree and no front iron! It is a
tool developed for the education of horses and riders in the Academic Art of
Riding. It is not suitable for the use of stirrups!

What Makes the Leather Special
For the Bent Branderup® Educational Pad, we deliberately use leather from Gebrüder KOEBEL – the last remaining leather factory in Germany’s “True North”. Since 1877, this traditional German company has stood for high-quality leather valued for its natural character, durability and excellent workability.
Unlike heavily sealed leather, its surface is not hidden beneath a thick layer of artificial waxes and coatings. This preserves the leather’s natural structure, pleasant feel and unique, living character.
This natural quality also comes with small individual features: the colour and surface texture may vary slightly. Even contact with a fingernail during production or everyday use can leave a fine, superficial line. Such marks are not deep and do not affect the function or durability of the Educational Pad. They are part of the natural surface and will gradually blend into the leather’s individual patina.
You are therefore not receiving a completely uniform, artificially sealed product, but a handcrafted Educational Pad made from a living, natural material. These small differences make every pad a little bit unique.
