Bent Branderup® Education Saddle
Bent Branderup® Education Saddle

The seamless connection between horse and rider Bent Branderup is always looking for high-quality products that he can use himself and recommend to his students. Very often he cannot find a suitable solution and therefore designs his own equipment, including the Bent Branderup® training saddle. Why a training saddle? On the way to school riding, the training saddle comes into play. The training saddle has a leather tree with head and cantle irons, large saddle cushions and a seat that can be adjusted using a slide-in compartment. The leg rest is made of soft, thin leather, as you would expect from a saddle seat or saddle cushion. The gullet iron can be exchanged and/or individually formed (cold mechanical). Combined with the straight seat and the traditionally simple design, this enables precise placement of the rider and fine aids that help train the horse. To ensure the optimal fit, each saddle is individually manufactured after a test and, similar to the training pad, can be manually adjusted to the shape of the horse's back and the rider's natural hip and pelvic position. Just like the rider's pelvic swing, the horse's freedom of movement remains unhindered, while the leather tree adapts to the anatomy of horse and rider thanks to its maximum flexibility, even in more demanding lessons. The saddle tree is available in different versions: for flat or higher withers (depending on the horse)with more or less waist (depending on the rider and possibly also the horse)The saddle pads can be selected for horses with higher withers, for example, with more volume in the front area. The middle cushion area over which the rider sits can be designed with different waists and can also be reupholstered later by a saddler. The adjustable seat As with the BB® training pad, the insert pocket in the upper seat area can be shaped by the rider themselves with wool according to their current needs. - This is about balance and providing the best possible help. Depending on body type, extent of movement, individual preference and instinct as well as level of training, there are a variety of possibilities and requirements...everything relates to the horse and rider. The pockets can be accessed via a Velcro fastener. Individualization and adjustment - Your training saddle will be individually adjusted to you and your horse. Contact Willy Meyer and arrange your test appointment. During the appointment, the test saddle will be put together to suit you and your horse so that you can get an initial feel for the saddle during a test ride. Your horse will then be precisely measured. Once the technical part is done, it's time for the design. Let your creativity take over your mind and body! Riding a Bent Branderup® pad or saddle Riding a Bent Branderup® pad or saddle can feel like a curse or a blessing!

The most important thing here is correct seat filling that is individually adapted to the hips and pelvis. You can do the upholstery yourself using the included upholstery wool. It is also rare, but possible, for the cushion filling to not fit the horse. In this case, we strongly recommend contacting one of our saddler partners who can correct the filling for you.

Below we would like to give you a few suggestions and tips on how to properly and comfortably upholster the seat filling in order to get a nice riding experience.

This is how you find the optimal wool filling for the balance of your pelvis

On the School Saddle, the opening for padding the seat is located underneath the seat. To access this, the screws on the front gallery must be opened. The seat can then be raised and wool inserted to give your hip joint the freedom of movement it needs.

The balance of the pelvis is essential for a comfortable sitting experience and clear communication with the horse. A balanced pelvis also allows the upper body and legs to follow the movement of the hips without additional tension and not to interfere with them.

If the pelvis is not positioned correctly, compensatory tensions arise that affect the suppleness of horse and rider. This often manifests itself as pain while riding.

With the help of the right cushion filling, the pelvis comes into balance so that the knees and thighs can find the correct position without strain.
